  • The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all HR functions at Hay Runner, including employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, recruiting support, and internal systems. This role plays a key part in shaping company culture, supporting team development, and ensuring our operations remain organized, compliant, and people-centered.

    As the Human Resources Manager at Hay Runner, you will:

    • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers across all departments

    • Support a positive, inclusive, and accountable workplace culture

    • Administer employee benefits, insurance, and related programs

    • Manage relationships with benefits providers (e.g., health insurance, workers comp)

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws

    • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation

    • Maintain HR systems, tracking tools, and internal documentation

    • Manage employee data, reporting, and audits

    • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and workflows

    Qualifications:

    • 3–7+ years of experience in human resources or people operations

  • We’re seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to take a hands-on leadership role on residential job sites. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in all phases of residential construction and remodeling, communicates well with clients and teams, and can lead a crew while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

    As a Lead Carpenter at Hay Runner, you will:

    • Lead the day-to-day execution of custom residential construction projects

    • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

    • Frame, install trim, cabinetry, windows, doors, and other finish work

    • Manage and mentor carpentry team members and apprentices on site

    • Coordinate with subcontractors and communicate progress with the project manager

    • Ensure job sites are clean, organized, and safe

    • Track materials, report progress, and flag potential issues proactively

    • Maintain positive client relationships and represent the company professionally

    Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of carpentry experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role

    • Strong knowledge of residential framing, finish work, and remodeling best practices

    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

    • Self-starter who can work independently and with a team

    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

    • OSHA 10 or 30 certification a plus

  • We’re looking for a Project Coordinator to support both our pre-construction and project management teams. This role is central to how we operate. You will be connecting new client inquiries, internal team coordination, and active project support. If you’re organized, proactive, and enjoy being part of a fast-moving, team-oriented environment, this is an opportunity to grow within a company that is evolving its systems and processes.

    What You’ll Do

    • Serve as the first point of contact for new project inquiries, representing Hay Runner with professionalism and clarity

    • Gather and organize project information to support a smooth transition into our design and pre-construction process

    • Maintain and manage our sales pipeline and CRM systems (Buildertrend)

    • Support Project Managers and Site Leads with coordination, scheduling, and follow-ups

    • Track project milestones, timelines, and internal deliverables across teams

    • Help ensure clear communication between clients, subcontractors, and internal staff

    • Assist with administrative and operational tasks to keep projects running efficiently

    What You Bring

    • Interest in residential & boutique commercial construction, architecture, or design-build

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

    • Clear and professional communication (written and verbal)

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through consistently

    • Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

    • Proficiency in Google Workspace

  • We are seeking a skilled, full-time woodworker to join our millwork shop team. This role involves the fabrication of custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, and specialty wood elements for residential and commercial projects.

    The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and takes pride in producing high-quality work while maintaining efficiency in a collaborative shop environment.

    As a Millwork Team Member at Hay Runner, you will:

    • Fabricate custom cabinetry, built-ins, and architectural millwork

    • Interpret shop drawings and plans to execute precise builds

    • Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently

    • Select appropriate materials and methods for each project

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment

    • Collaborate with designers, project managers, and field teams

    • Assist with installation as needed

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience in cabinetry, millwork, or fine woodworking
